Patricia Fritz

Patricia “Pat” Fritz (nee Oakley), 91, of Cresskill, New Jersey passed away peacefully on August 26, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life Peter G. Fritz. Together they loved dancing, spending time together, and laughing. Pat was born in Tenafly, NJ on December 5, 1931 to Helen and Austin Oakley. She was the youngest sibling of her beloved sisters June and Gloria. Pat graduated from Tenafly High School and began working as a secretary at Mackay School. From the time she was 19 to her retirement she ran the Metropolitan Trailer Park in Moonachie where she worked to keep all 450 residents happy, but her favorite part was driving the garbage truck and being “king of the road.” Pat was an active member at Cresskill Congregational Church, where over the years she practiced her faith, ran multiple committees, including the annual church bazaar, and made lifelong friends. In the winter of her life, she continued to bring joy and laughter to all those who crossed her path at Sunrise Assisted Living of Cresskill by organizing the game time and spreading love. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children; Diane Taylor and her husband Dean, Bobbi Lee Gelis and her husband Jimmy, Peter Fritz and his wife Linda, Luann Scala and her husband Jay, and Kenny Fritz and his wife Karen. Pat, a kid at heart, adored her grandchildren, and was always available to play games and have fun with them. She will be treasured by her grandchildren; Ryan (Lindsey) Rowse, Jeremy (Jenilee) Rowse, Katie Fritz, Jackie (Eric) Henry, Jayson (Ines) Scala, Kelly (Nick) Paton, HJ (Allie) Weber, and Dallen Taylor, as well as her 10 great-grandchildren; Gentry, Grayson, Emmerson, Joseph, Annabelle, Violette, Sarah, Jace, Jack, and Emma. Pat’s greatest accomplishment was her family and she will be dearly missed by us all.
