Patrick James Burke Dolan

Patrick James Burke Dolan, age 26, died suddenly on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his residence in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Patrick was born on April 29, 1993, at Englewood Hospital, Englewood, New Jersey, to parents James Patrick Alexander Dolan (JP) and Glynis Jon Dolan (nee Burke). Patrick was a twin birth and he was born at 4:58 AM, while his “younger sister” Megan Jon Theresa Dolan was born at 5:19 AM. They were delivered by Dr. Richard Lieblich. Patrick’s parents were living at 30 Walnut Place, Closter, New Jersey at the time. The name Patrick, the Irish “Padraig” (paw-drig), means “of noble birth” from the Latin “Patricius”. Patrick was a graduate of Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, NJ, class of 2011. He also attended the State University of New York at Delhi, NY. He was employed at Local 52 IATSE, New York City. Patrick had been an avid Eagle Scout and was instrumental in creating an amazing patio area and raised bed gardens for differently abled residents to pick the ripened vegetables at the Brooks Farm Park on Hickory Lane, Closter, NJ. Patrick loved the outdoors and was a talented craftsman. He could build and take apart anything and enjoyed creating with his hands. Patrick was so loved. He was a gentle, soft spoken and kind- hearted loving soul, though handsome and tall of stature. He was the Embodiment in spirt of what an Eagle Scout represents. He was loyal and helpful to a fault, sensitive and aware. He was so close to all of his grandparents and loving nothing more than spending precious time with them daily. Patrick is survived by his loving parents, James and Glynis; his sisters Colleen Jon, Megan Jon Theresa, Kathleen Brigit; his paternal grandparents James Edward Dolan and Rosemary Theresa Dolan (nee Scanlon); his uncles Michael Burke, Christopher Edward Dolan, John Peter Dolan and Richard Neal Dolan. Patrick is survived by many loving cousins: Kayley Rose, Sophia Marie, Justine, Ava Rose, Chloe Bella, Evelyn and Christopher, Jillian and Douglas, and second cousins Ryan and Robbie. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents John (Jackie / Red) and Rita Theresa (Cleary) Burke and his aunts Mary Rose Dolan and Kathleen Marie Dolan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Patrick J. Dolan “Memorial Labor Assistance and Scholarship Fund” c/o Local 52 IATSE, 19-02 Steinway St., Astoria, NY 11105. The funeral arrangements will be handled by the Barrett Funeral Home, 148 Dean Drive, Tenafly, NJ 07670. Visitation hours are Wednesday, May 22 at 2:00 to 4:00 PM, and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. There will be a Solemn Requiem Mass at 10 o’clock to be held at Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church, 150 Harriet Avenue, Harrington Park, New Jersey, 07641. Interment will be at the Westwood Cemetery, 35 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, New Jersey 07675.
