Raymond Laccetti

Raymond Laccetti, 83, longtime resident of Gramercy Park, New York, passed away on Friday December 23, 2022. He was born in Union City, NJ on August 18, 1939 to Pauline Yannuzzi and Nicholas Laccetti. Raymond is survived by his Brother Charles (Bobbie) Pascale, Sister Irene DeRosa and Brother Nicholas (wife Susan) Laccetti; Nieces, Jeanine Roberts, Patricia (husband James) Kissam, Darlene Pascale, Laureen DeRosa, Kelly (husband Dan) Gioia and Aimee (Husband Kevin) McKegney, Alexandria, Caroline, Justine, and Nicole in Virginia and Susan and Karen in Georgia; Nephews, Richard Hess (wife Karen), Nicholas Hess (wife Laurie), John DeRosa (wife Michelle), Nicholas Laccetti (wife Lilly), and Thomas Laccetti and James Laccetti in Georgia, and many great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all including his loving friends Nancy Hillman, Barbara Laccetti and Caregiver and Best friend Jillian Arthur. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his devoted Life Partner, Sergei Eshinsky; Brothers, Joseph Laccetti and wife Rita, and George Laccetti and wife JoAnn, Sister Maureen Hess and husband Richard, Sister-in-law Eileen Pascale, Brother-in-law George DeRosa, and Nephew Keith (Butchie) Pascale. Raymond grew up in Union City, NJ and graduated from Emerson High School in 1958. He attended New York University and Parsons School of Design in NY and graduated in 1962. He was a proud Veteran, serving his Country from May 10, 1963 to April 30, 1969. He was trained as a rifleman and deployed to Viet Nam in 1965. In Raymond’s talented, artistic fashion he was a member of the Third Army Soldier Showmobile which provided mobile shows and entertainment for the troops. Raymond’s Art appeared on the many Posters and Playbills of shows throughout his Army career. In his early years, Ray worked as a Barber in his Dad’s Shop - the Emerson Barber Shop in Union City. After graduating College, he worked as a Graphic Artist for Grey’s Advertising in Manhattan until his retirement. Raymond’s love for Art, Travel, Cats and Cooking was shared with his longtime partner Sergei Eshinsky. The only thing Ray loved more than his Cats was Serge! After Serge’s passing, sadly, Ray was confined to his home and not in the best of health. He still continued with his artwork via his iPad and iPhone and was highly technologically skilled. He will forever be remembered for his wit and pranks and quirky sense of humor. Visitation at Barrett-Leber Funeral Home, 148 Dean Drive, Tenafly, from 4 to 6pm, Tuesday, December 27. Graveside burial will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 11am at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Easton, Connecticut.
