March 1, 2022
Betty Pau, 69, passed away on March 1, 2022 after a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was born on July 4th, 1952 in Hong Kong to parents Kam Hung and Mui Jou, into a large family consisting of an older sister and five brothers. They would immigrate to the US where she went to college and then went onto work at Citibank. She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Bernard, and their children, Derrick and Clara. She has three treasured grandchildren, Ellia, Daniel, and Quincy. Betty loved God and her family, of which she was the bedrock. She put their needs ahead of her own. Oversea Chinese Mission was her church family and allowed her to form eternal friendships with many brothers and sisters in Christ. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed providing her family with delicious Cantonese cooking. She loved traveling and trying different foods. She was always eager to explore and experience new things. She was generous and showered her children and grandchildren with gifts. She loved music and passed this onto her children. She enjoyed watching "The Voice" and would often play music by Josh Groban or Andrea Bocelli as she worked in the kitchen. Betty lived a life of energy and positivity. She was dedicated and hardworking. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Now she can rest in peace, free from disease. Betty will be missed, but we know that she is in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and that we will see her again. A memorial service to commemorate Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 10 am at the Barrett Leber Funeral Home in Tenafly, NJ followed by her burial at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
