Riley Rosemarie Suapengco

Riley Rosemarie Suapengco, age 4, passed away on Thursday, July 29, after an 18-month battle with cancer. She spent her final days at her home in Tenafly, NJ, surrounded by loved ones. Though her time was cut short, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by those around her. Riley was born on July 18, 2017 in Ridgewood, NJ to parents Jason and Nicole Suapengco. She was known by her family and friends to be bright, creative and most of all, courageous. She would not let her disease stop her from enjoying life. She loved to study colors and the ABCs. Her favorite activities included challenging puzzles, art projects, music, playgrounds and of course, relaxing with her purple iPad. All before the age of four, she was counting to at least 50, coloring in the lines better than most adults and singing about the planets in order from their distance to the sun. During her final months, she kept her “friends” close by on her chairside table. The Paw Patrol, My Little Pony and Minnie Mouse brought her comfort during such difficult times. Riley is survived by her parents, Jason and Nicole; her sister, Olivia Suapengco; her maternal grandparents, Alex and Maria Susan de Luna; and her paternal grandfather, Jesus Suapengco. She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Rosalinda Suapengco and her great-grandparents, Narciso Santos, Gregorio and Cresenciana de Luna and Noli Suapengco. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 3rd from 4pm to 8pm at the Barrett Leber Funeral Home in Tenafly, NJ. With words of remembrance to begin at 7 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 9:30am at St. Mary’s Church in Dumont, NJ (funeral Mass will be livestreamed at St. Mary's Church Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/stmarysdumont ). Entombment to follow at Garden of Memories in Paramus, NJ. In consideration of the young children and other vulnerable individuals who may be present, the family requests that all guests in attendance wear a mask unless it is medically contraindicated.
