Thomas Victor Cusanelli Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thomas Victor Cusanelli age 94, of Elmhurst, NY, passed away on Monday, August 20th surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Elmhurst, NY on May 25, 1924 to Josephine and Dominick. He attended P.S. 102 and Newtown High School where he could often be found on the baseball diamond as a left-handed pitcher. Thomas served in the United States Navy as a Gunner's Mate First Class aboard the USS Foss during World War II from February 1943 until February 1946 when he received an honorable and decorated discharge. He then trained as a pattern maker and subsequently worked in the New York City Garment District until his retirement in 1989. Thomas resided most of his life in Elmhurst where he was a member of Saint Adalbert's Parish. He was also a lifetime brother and an officer of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #878 in Queens, NY. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Phyllis; son, Thomas and his wife, Christine; four grandchildren, Thomas, Kristen, Danielle, and Carinne, and their spouses; three great-grandchildren, Gianna, Tommy and Thomas Lucas; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Fay; son-in-law, Tom; and sisters, Adelaide, Marian, and Josephine. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 25th from 7-9 pm and on Sunday, August 26th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Barrett Funeral Home in Tenafly, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on August 27th at 11 am at Sacred Heart RC Church in Haworth, NJ. Interment will be a later date. For further information visit www.barrettfuneralhome.net.
