James Edward Dolan

James Edward Dolan, age 91 of Moultonborough, New Hampshire, passed away in his home on Wyman Trail on March 23, 2023. Born in Bronx, New York to James Dolan and Marie Heisler on December 4, 1931. James is survived by his three sons, James Patrick Dolan married to Glynis Burke of Closter, NJ, John Peter Dolan of Hawthorne, NJ and Richard Neil Dolan of Fort Lee, NJ, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Dolan (nee Anderson), of Westwood, NJ. Beloved grandfather to Justine Marie Cote, Colleen Jon Dolan, Meghan Teresa Dolan, Kathleen Bridget Dolan, Patrick James Dolan (deceased), Kayley Rose Giorgini, Sophia Marie Giorgini, Jillian Sandor (nee Dolan) and her husband Michael, John Douglas Dolan, Evelyn Marie Dolan, Christopher James Dolan Jr, Chloe Bella Dolan and Ava Rose Dolan. Cherished great grandfather to Robert, Ryan, and Lucas Sandor. Beloved brother to Carol Ann Dolan, Ronald Dolan, and Robert Dolan. Packy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. James joins in heaven, his beloved wife, Rosemary (Mary), beloved children, Mary Rose, Kathleen, and Christopher, and beloved grandson, Patrick James. James, (fondly, nicknamed Packy) exited this earth on his own terms for sure. He passed in his home in his favorite chair with a cup of coffee; likely, I’m sorry to say watching Fox News (LOL), with his little pug Bridget at his side. James married the love of his life, Rosemary at the age of 21, on June 21, 1953. James and Rosemary left the Bronx after James completed his service in the US Navy as a Navy Corpsman 3 PO and crossed the GWB to the suburb of Westwood New Jersey. James and Rosemary raised six children together while enjoying a successful career in the motion picture industry through Local 52 IATSE as a gaffer. Packy worked as Gaffer on several memorable films shot in New York City and on location. James had a relevant career both in television and in film. At the age of 62, James retired, and he and Rosemary moved up to Moultonborough, New Hampshire. They built a farm in Tuftonboro and lived there for well over a decade. In James’ spare time and retirement, he enjoyed, beekeeping, sailing, woodworking, haying his fields, and tending to an apple orchard that he planted himself. he enjoyed baking, gardening, flowers, and was a man of great knowledge in many subjects. Tall of stature, quiet but intimidating many would say…. Without a doubt, what surpassed all of that was his love for his family, his grandchildren in particular and his dogs Tinker, Bee Bee, Sheena, “one eyed” Max and finally Bridget! Packy (James) will truly be missed, but forever loved and remembered. Visitation at Barrett Leber Funeral Home, 148 Dean Dr., Tenafly on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 2-6 PM. Funeral Mass Monday, April 3, 2023 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Victories Church, Harrington Park. Interment Private.
